Ivorian authorities considering that law No. 95-15 of January 12th 1995 were obsolete, have decided to adopt a new Labor Code.
This new Labor Code was published in the « Journal Officiel » No. 74 of Monday, September 14th 2015.
According to decree No. 61-175 of May 18th 1961 relating to law and regulatory acts publications modes, the new Labor Code is actually applicable in Côte d’Ivoire since Thursday, September 17th 2015.
Significant changes can be reported and should be carefully analyzed to ensure compliance with its provisions within 6 months (art. 110.1).
In this regard, we offer a summary (in French) issued by the "Confédération Général des Entreprises Ivoiriennes’’ (CGECI) with input from the ‘’Centre International pour le Développement du Droit" (CIDD).
