NEW: BUSINESS TAX OF <<BIG COMPANIES>>

From now on, big companies must pay their Business Tax (f.n : Patente) in a new way.

The Ivorian Tax Administration considers as "big companies", companies whose turnover is equal or exceeds XOF 1 billion.

These new provisions are mentioned in an internal notice of the Ivorian Tax Administration (notice N°40534/MPMB/IMB/DLCD-SDC/di/bg of January 29th 2014).

CONTENTS OF THE NOTICE

Starting January 2014, big companies must pay Business Tax by issuing two (2) checks.

The first check which corresponds to 75% of the due amount, will be issued for the benefit of the Ivorian Administration.

The second check which corresponds to 25% of the due amount, will be used to develop activities of the Road Maintenance Fund (f.n: Fond d’Entretien Routier, FER).

In any case, both check should be made to the order of "Receveur des impôts des Grandes Entreprises".

For your information, kindly note that, in Côte d’Ivoire, Business Tax is paid in two (2) installments, no later than April 30th (1st payment) and July 30th (2nd payment) of each year.
